2026 Statewide General Election Overview

Durham, NC – Durham County will conduct the 2026 Statewide General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Registered voters will be permitted to vote either by mail, in-person at an early voting site, or in-person at their assigned Election Day polling place.  

Offices on the ballot for the Statewide General Election will include: 

  • U.S. Senate 

  • U.S. House of Representatives (District 4)  

  • N.C. Supreme Court (Associate Justice Seat 1) 

  • N.C. Court of Appeals (Seats 1, 2, and 3) 

  • N.C. Superior Court (District 16B; Seats 2 and 3) 

  • N.C. Senate (Districts 20 and 22)  

  • N.C. House (Districts 2, 29, 30, and 31)  

  • N.C. District Court (District 16; Seats 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) 

  • Durham County (Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, and Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor)  

  • District Attorney (District 16)  

  • City of Raleigh (Mayor, City Council At-Large, City Council District E) – for Durham County voters who are City of Raleigh residents.  

The ballot will also include a constitutional amendment regarding photo ID requirements for voting.

The polls will be open on Election Day from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters will be required to go to their assigned polling place if opting to vote on Election Day. To find your polling place, use the State Board of Elections voter lookup tool at www.ncsbe.gov

The candidate filing period for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor begins on June 8th at 12:00 p.m. Filing will take place at the Durham County Board of Elections office located at 3825 S. Roxboro Street, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27713. For information regarding filing fees, check out the Candidate Filing page of our website at dcovotes.com
