Candidate Filing Information

Candidate Filing for the 2026 Statewide Primary and Election will take place beginning Monday, December 1st (12:00 p.m.) until Friday, December 19th (12:00 p.m.).

Filing will occur at the Durham County Board of Elections located at 3825 S. Roxboro Street, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27713 or by mail.

2026 Statewide Primary and General Election Candidate Filing Fees (Subject to Change)

During the time of filing, if the required filing fee exceeds $50, it must be paid by check or money order. Filing fees under $50 may be paid by cash. Checks and money orders shall be made payable to Durham County Government.
